Advertising and Sponsorship Policy
BIM PANGURIPAN: Journal on Society, Civilization, and Human Empowerment maintains a clear separation between editorial activities and commercial or promotional activities.
1. General Principle
The journal may consider appropriate advertising or sponsorship arrangements when they support the sustainability and dissemination of scholarly publishing.
Advertising and sponsorship must not compromise academic integrity, editorial independence, or public trust.
2. Advertising
If advertisements are displayed on the journal website or in journal materials, they must be clearly distinguishable from scholarly and editorial content.
Advertisements must not be presented in a manner that could reasonably be interpreted as part of an article, editorial decision, peer-review process, or scholarly endorsement.
3. Acceptable Advertising
The journal may consider advertisements that are relevant to its academic and professional readership, provided that they comply with applicable laws, ethical standards, and institutional policies.
The journal reserves the right to reject advertisements that are misleading, inappropriate, discriminatory, deceptive, or inconsistent with the journal's academic mission.
4. Advertising Decisions
Advertising decisions are separate from manuscript editorial decisions.
Advertisers must not have access to confidential peer-review information or influence the evaluation, acceptance, rejection, or publication of manuscripts.
5. Sponsorship
The journal may receive sponsorship or institutional support from universities, research institutions, government agencies, professional organizations, foundations, community organizations, or other legitimate entities.
Sponsorship does not constitute editorial endorsement.
6. Disclosure
Significant sponsorship or financial support associated with journal activities should be disclosed transparently where appropriate.
Sponsors must not determine:
-
Which manuscripts are published;
-
Which reviewers are selected;
-
Editorial conclusions;
-
Retraction or correction decisions;
-
Editorial policies.
7. Separation from Editorial Content
Advertising and sponsorship materials should be kept separate from editorial content.
Where advertisements are displayed digitally, they should not be designed in a way that makes them indistinguishable from scholarly articles.
This separation is consistent with journal transparency principles recommended by DOAJ.
8. Community and Ethical Considerations
Advertising or sponsorship related to community activities must respect the dignity, privacy, cultural values, and interests of community participants.
The journal will not knowingly promote activities that conflict with applicable ethical, legal, or publication-integrity standards.
9. Removal of Advertising
The journal may remove an advertisement or discontinue a sponsorship arrangement if it is subsequently found to be misleading, inappropriate, unethical, legally problematic, or inconsistent with this policy.
10. Editorial Independence
No advertiser or sponsor may condition financial support on publication of particular manuscripts or editorial outcomes.
The journal's editorial decisions remain independent of advertising and sponsorship arrangements.
