Digital Archiving Policy

BIM PANGURIPAN: Journal on Society, Civilization, and Human Empowerment is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility, preservation, and integrity of all scholarly content published by the journal.

1. Purpose

The Digital Archiving Policy establishes procedures for preserving published articles and associated scholarly content so that they remain accessible to readers, researchers, practitioners, community organizations, and other stakeholders over the long term.

Digital preservation is considered an essential component of responsible open-access publishing.

2. Preservation of Published Content

The journal seeks to preserve:

  • Published full-text articles;

  • Article metadata;

  • Abstracts and keywords;

  • Tables and figures;

  • Supplementary materials where applicable;

  • Publication dates and bibliographic information;

  • Corrections, errata, corrigenda, and retraction notices.

Preservation should maintain the scholarly record and the relationship between the original article and any subsequent editorial notices.

3. Digital Backup

The journal maintains appropriate digital backup procedures for its editorial and published content. Backup procedures are intended to reduce the risk of permanent loss caused by technical failure, accidental deletion, system disruption, or other unforeseen circumstances.

4. Long-Term Preservation

The journal intends to participate in appropriate long-term digital preservation and archiving services as resources and technical arrangements permit. Such services may include recognized institutional repositories, national or international preservation networks, Internet Archive, LOCKSS/CLOCKSS, PKP Preservation Network, or other suitable preservation systems.

The journal will seek preservation arrangements that are compatible with its publishing platform and open-access model.

A clearly stated long-term preservation plan is an important element of journal transparency and continuity.

5. Author Self-Archiving

Authors are permitted to preserve and share their published work through appropriate institutional or subject repositories, personal academic webpages, and other legitimate scholarly platforms, subject to the journal's copyright and licensing policy.

Where the article is published under a Creative Commons license, reuse and redistribution must comply with the terms of that license.

6. Continuity of Access

If the journal experiences a change of publisher, platform, institutional management, or technical infrastructure, reasonable measures will be taken to preserve previously published content and maintain persistent access to the scholarly record.

7. Preservation of Editorial Notices

Corrections, errata, corrigenda, expressions of concern, and retraction notices will be preserved as part of the journal's permanent scholarly record.

Where technically possible, such notices will remain linked to the relevant article.

8. Responsibility

The journal's publisher and editorial management are responsible for maintaining appropriate digital preservation procedures and periodically reviewing the effectiveness of the journal's archiving arrangements.

9. Policy Review

This policy may be updated when the journal adopts additional preservation services, changes its publishing infrastructure, or establishes new long-term digital preservation arrangements.
